On behalf of Kansas State University and the entire Planning Committee for the 36th Annual Big XII Conference of Black Student Government, I would like to welcome you to our website. On this site, you will find all the information needed to make sure that your school/university is able to fully participate in this year’s conference. During this conference, students will be able to experience wonderful speakers, uplifting and informative workshops, and enjoy social and cultural events each day, as well as have the opportunity to network and explore potential career opportunities with companies at the Career Fair. This year’s theme is “The Talented Tenth: Redefining Black Student Leadership.” The conference will take place primarily on the main campus of Kansas State University in the K-State Student Union from February 28-March 3, 2013.
We are excited to host the Big XII Conference on Black Student Government at Kansas State University, and we plan to build on the traits and talents of each participant. While this is the Big XII Conference on Black Student Government, we welcome all colleges, universities, and community colleges to attend and participate. Our goal is to have you leave the conference prepared to impact and change your respective campuses for the better, and be better informed on how to excel academically. We plan to educate all participants on the background of the Talented Tenth, and how we can define what a leader looks like using the lens of past generations as a foundation and the eyes of OUR generation in the 21st century.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, any of our Planning Committee Chairs, or our Conference Advisor. We look forward to seeing you February 28-March 3, 2013 at Kansas State University where you will be welcomed warmly and treated to a first-class experience.
